The 21-year-old forward also praised left-back Marc Cucurella for his support, saying: ‘Cucurella covers up my mistakes, he helps me a lot. Everyone appreciates Dani Carvajal at right-back. But I think it’s too little to appreciate how well Marc plays here.’
Finally, Nico also spoke about the challenge of expectations: ‘I don’t think anyone outside our camp can predict much about us before the Euros. We are not the favourites, we don’t mind playing low every day, but we are here to do something important.’
