Manchester United have been surprisingly keen to re-sign left-back Sergio Reguilon, who was on loan at the club in January.
The Red Devils are looking to strengthen their defence this summer after Dutch manager Erik ten Hag signed a one-year contract extension.
They have shown interest in Bayern Munich centre-back Matthijs de Ligt and are reportedly ready to offer the Dutch defender a five-year contract. If a deal worth £42m plus bonuses can be agreed.UFABET
However, despite De Ligt’s move, United are still interested in one of their former defenders, who left the club six months ago.
According to a report from the Metro. The Red Devils are keen to sign Reguilon from Spurs on a permanent deal this summer.
The Spaniard spent the first half of last season on loan at Old Trafford. Before his contract was cancelled midway through and he joined Brentford for the rest of the campaign.
Reguilon was brought in due to United’s injury crisis at left-back, who are without Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
The 27-year-old has only made 12 appearances for the Red Devils but has impressed fans.
Reguilon’s contract with Spurs expires next year. And the Spurs are hoping to sell him this summer to avoid losing him for nothing next year.
